THE IDEA OF THE CLASS EXCHANGE PROJECT

The aim of the mobility is to be familiar with and compare two Nordic/Baltic countries - Denmark and Lithuania, to find out main similarities and differences in history, geography, languages and culture by direct contacts and through ICT.

We asked a lot of students (aged 12-13) from Šiauliai "Romuvos" progymnasium, Lithuania and Hojene School, Denmark what they knew about Denmark and Lithuania and it was very difficult to obtain a wide range of answers. This project will provide an opportunity for students and teachers from Nordic and Baltic countries to learn more about each other. Pupils from Denmark and Lithuania have a chance to learn about Denmark's and Lithuania's history, customs and traditions, express their patriotic feelings and to prepare for long life learning.

During mobility activities each country presents educational system, museums, heritage sites, national parks, geographical features, language, songs, dances and cuisine by direct contacts and through ICT.

Taking part in this project students promote national identity by learning about important historical and heritage sites and developing an understanding of their own country. As a result, the participants of the mobility improve ICT, communication and language skills, become more self-confident and knowing the past will easier and more confidently venture into the future to enjoy long life learning.

The expected final products are the video presentations containing the main similarities and differences in educational systems, history, geography, language and culture with evidence of the mobility activities in Denmark and Lithuania.
